New Table

A big shout out to Sheri Arner, Joe's mom, for giving me a new dining table! She was moving and didn't need it as her sewing table anymore.

(You can see how much bigger it is than my last table)

I don't know when but I decided a while ago that when I did get a real dining room table that I wanted to paint it turquoise. So trusty readers, it is your job to look at this table and help me decide just how turquoise I should go.

Should I
a) Paint the whole table (and chairs) turquoise
b) Paint the white parts of the table (and chairs) turquoise
c) Paint only the tabletop of the table (and chairs) turquoise

notice there is no "d) don't paint the table (and chairs) turquoise." that is because this is an Ikea table, not a priceless antique and therefore if I grow out of my turquoise phase, getting a different table (or repainting again) won't be a big deal.

Please cast your votes in the comments section! Thanks for your help in this decision :)

b) paint only the white parts turquoise
btw-antiques never start out old. That will be a valuable antique Ikea table in 50 years or so, and a new generation will look at it and say, "can you believe some idiot painted this table turquoise?"
Have fun!

Peggie said, I vote to paint only the white parts turquoise and when you're tired of it to paint the turquoise parts another color yada yada yada

Agreed! But it needs to be a turquoise that would make the wood stand out too! Lets look at paint chips!

Michaela you do love your paint chips! hahahah, but yeah we should do that this weekend.

I am liking the feedback people :)

Hey crafty Casey and Michaela, paint chip cards are great items to add to your crafting supplies--good colored paper there, ya know? Of course, like me, you would only collect ones from colors you're actually considering...

Paint just the white parts turquoise but do accents in yellow and red - maybe two or four "spokes" of each chair back, and details on the legs, kind of like the gingerbread on a Victorian house that has been restored. It could bring your decor together!

Yep, they are right. Who knew that you have such a great gene pool. Paint the white part, but not the wood.
Maybe you should get some extra paint and you and your crafting friends could make a centerpiece with some of the same color. Tie it all together nicely I think.
Congratulations on a real dining room. Now you can have dinner parties!!

So, have you painted it yet? We need pictures. Or at least pictures of paint chips.

I agree, b) paint only the white parts.

And you can always get a color table cloth or two to complement the colors, or even a few yards of fabric. Probably lots of patterns available there.

Great comments people! No, I have not painted it yet, that may be a next weekend project. Don't worry you will know when it is done!
