Happy Birthday Margot!

How is it possible that a year has gone by?! This time last year I was in the hospital - had been since 2am - hanging out in Michaela's room for the big moment. Margot wasn't born until about 11:45 am but it is an unbelievable experience that I will never forget.

Now she has her four front teeth, yells 'da-da' at everyone, and is walking like a drunken sailor all the time! Oh and she loves pigs - hence her birthday party theme is 'this little piggy is turning 1.' It will be at peter piper pizza - my first time there since I could ask my dad for more quarters for tokens - so I am excited for some skeeball!

Of course by the time you are going to PPP for a childs party and the child is clearly a generation after you, the tickets for prizes don't seem that important. (As opposed to when the PPP party is for a child of your same generation and you can't believe the adults just gave you their 40 tickets so you can now get the 800 ticket rubber ball instead of the 775 ticket keychain!!!)

It should be a fun day (check the Crabtree blog tomorrow for pictures) and what kind of childless adult would I be if I didn't buy Margot a music kit with a drum, moraccas and bells?!? :)

Now you have spoiled the surprise. What if she reads your blog before opening her gifts? Boy, you childless adults have a lot to learn.

Well, I left a good comment but it disappeared, hmmm...I'll see if it shows up later or comment again.

Well, you got EXACTLY the right birthday present for Margot. I think it's interesting, once we fall in love with a child we always think about when they were born and celebrate THEM! They think birthdays are about presents and ice cream and cake. And, I remember Dad giving you all those tickets at PPP too.

Haha, well dad, another thing you pick up when you are friends with the parent and not the child is that you can coordinate gifts and make sure everyone buy different, yet equally coveted, gifts. Michaela actually was going to get the drum kit but found an actiity center that would be good too, so I said I would get the drum.

I am not cool enough to recklessly buy a noisemaking gift - I did check with the mom first :)

Mom- I know what you mean, although I will say the piggy cupcakes Michaela has made are right up there as something I am most looking forward to about the party. Cake and presents are important!
