ok ok, so it seems I haven't updated in a loooong while, and I have had requests to do so. I don't want to upset my fans so here we go.
I had a wonderful birthday as you could see, and then all of the sudden it was time to go home. so I ended up in Tucson, with no toilet. the last couple of visits home resulted in leaks in my room, so this time my parents weren't chancing it, they just acknowledged the bad plumbing before I got there. to their credit I got a nice new toilet, but it was after a week of being rationed to theirs.
anyhoo, I also came home to an artificial tree. boo. not that big of a deal when you consider that our christmas morning consisted of the three of us. what good is christmas tree smell if there is no one to share it with. the tree was really pretty though, and mom and dad were extremely proud of the 800 multi-colored lights, mostly because when they bought the tree is wasn't multi-colored.
you have to look closely - or wait 2 seconds for my mom to tell you - but the lights were actually painted. individually. by hand. all 800.
seriously, it is my parents pride and joy, and they told every person they knew how clever they were for coming up with the idea of painting the tree. I mean really, when you think about the fact that they originally thought they were going to just replace each white light with a colored light, painting them instead doesnt seem so...well,actually, it is still crazy.
at least the tree was pretty, and I got to put up all the ornaments.
this was also my first christmas having dinner at someone else's house. we went to Caseyman and Aimee's house. and later Alex and I met up with my old next door neighbors (the McHale sisters) and saw a movie. lots of christmas firsts this year.
and for christmas I got a new hair-do and color - back to blond! I also got new glasses, and even tried contacts!! decided they werent for me, so I got two new pairs of glasses instead to spice things up. I look fetching if I do say so myself.
I did get to go up to Tempe for New Year's Eve though, cuz c'mon, if you have a boyfriend, and you have a place to celebrate - you have to go just for the kiss!! it was super fun, and we got to see fireworks over Tempe Town Lake.
over all winter break was tons of fun, and I got to hang out with my peeps from high school...and you know, family.
