ugh, no one is more upset than I am that I didn't get to update yesterday. trust me.
yesterday really did take most of the day just getting to Dublin. flying and busing around. we are on the St Mary's University campus, which is out of town. we have to ride the bus to get anywhere. but the flats are awesome! so clean, and we each get our own bedroom. which, is awesome to have my own space, but at the same time sorta lonely. who knows. there is an awesome courtyard in our complex and my friends and I are determined to get a frisbee or something so we can be outside.
last night our passwords weren't working on the computers, and the lab closes at 10 pm anyway! who does that?! I don't like it one bit. but my roomies and I had a smashing good time sitting in our living room and gossiping like 6th grade girls. we talked about everyone that walked through the courtyard, and we have already decided to throw waterballoons from our third floor windows in an infamous 5 Lass Rebellion! details as to what we are rebelling against to come later.
today we got up and went into the city! woo woo! I was a little worried that Dublin would be a little spread out and since we don't know where anything is, I thought there was a good chance of getting lost. however, our first stop was to the tourist center to book our trip to Galway. it was easy to find and Jenny McGlynn, the woman behind the counter who helped us, booked everything! she was super nice as well.
in fact I have discovered that the Irish are some of the nicest people I have ever met. we asked for directions a couple times and they practically walked us to our destinations.
what is more is that we went to quite a few gift shops to scope out the best places to buy stuff, and it turns out that they all price everything the same! so if you see something you really like you can go ahead and buy it, because there is no better deal. that is awesome.
also, so far, the food is better! I have some how already run through my first batch of cash though. I don't know why, but Euros seem to be easier to spend. lucky for me I dont have the space in my suitcase to buy much more.
I did however find a lovely green Ireland jacket to replace my England one for the duration of my stay in Dublin. and I am of course, now convinced I need one from scotland. it will be awesome. hahaha.
surprisingly, I only have about 8 days left in Ireland. the time will definitely be flying by.
hopefully, after this weekend I will have some postcard perfect pictures, and I better understanding of Dublin.
