changing of the guard

Today, Sunday, was pretty lazy. we went to the London Museum in old London partially to see the museum, and partially because we had a three page, six artifact extra credit paper to write on it. (we all know we aren't going to keep up with the readings, so we might as well get credit where we can find it).

and that was it.

oh...it was rainy

...fine, the museum was cool but nothing special. I am writing this instead of the paper. happy?

also, I have found a way that really does put pictures on here! so this is going to be a superlong post full of pics! I know, you are excited. I can feel it. here we go:

This is Buckingham palace. I went there to watch the changing of the guard, and it was less than spectacular. one of those, you have to do it or you will kick yourself later things. but having done it, I never have to do it again.

you can't even go up to the guards anymore. they are behind the gates. sad

ok, basically, at 11am, gaurds on horses and on foot walk away from the palace. at 11:30 a redcoat marching band heralds in the guard. so here are pictures of the horses, band, and guards lined up inside the gates of the palace. (ps, one of the more bland palaces if you ask me.)

(I have decided to do several posts of like pics, so as to break up the length.)

I was looking forward to the obligatory “this is me harassing a Buckingham Palace guard, and there’s nothing he can do about it” pictures. I imagined you not only making faces at him, but possibly drawing a handlebar moustache on his face, as well. Boo and hiss, England, for preventing this with your fancy gates. Boo and hiss. :)

what is worse is that the guards are not still as statues. at least not the ones that are in the band and do all the lining up and stuff. they totally wipe their nose, shuffle their feet. I mean, I know it is boring, but, I want full unmoving attention the entire half hour!
