Lillywhites and Titus

Today I had class again. it is such a bother. granted I only have 9 class periods on this entire trip, but they are for 4 hours straight!!! just kill me now.

after that a group of us went back to Picadilly Circus and went to Lillywhites. this is the best store ever! it is a sporting wear store and just about everything in the store is on sale...all the time... for great deals. I bought an england soccer jersey, a brazil shirt, and england zip-up heavey duty sweater, and a team flag for england, ireland, scotland, and wales...all for a mere 25 pounds! the shirts were 5 pounds each and the jacket was marked down from 30 pounds to 10!! I got the flags thinking my mom might be able to make a quilt, or maybe curtains out of them (but they are nylon so who knows) and I got one of each because I figured I would be in all four countries of the UK. unfortunately we couldnt book the daytrip to wales with this travel company, so we can't go. a girl is going to wales on her own tomorrow just on the train and she said she would scope it out for me to see if it is worth doing on our own without the tour. since I still have saturday free.

otherwise friday is Birmingham and the Cadbury factory, sunday is Bath and Stonehenge, and monday is Canterbury and Dover. I feel like saturday needs a side trip too. we are also looking at just taking the train to the Cotswolds as well. I am going to Leeds next sunday.

after all my shopping, we had enough time to get dinner and then we headed over to the Globe theater and Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus. it isn't one of his best plays, but I had seen the movie beforehand (in fact I have to write a paper due thursday comparing the play to the movie)so I was interested to see it as a play. I think I like the play more only because they couldnt be as gratuitously violent and I won't have nightmares from it. it was even funny at some points. we had seats in the theater (way stage right though) and for the last scene I went ahead and became a groundling (stood) because it is the grand death scene where everyone dies! and it is a funny scene as well. it was pretty freezing, and I am glad I wasn't a groundling the entire time because it rained a couple times. luckily, I had a nice new jacket to wear.

I have no idea how all my shopping is going to get back to Arizona. but I sure am having fun spending the money! and frankly, that is the point!

Oooh-aaah about everything. Shopping, theater, side trips, High Tea, taking the train to check out something just because you can! And yes, your mother can probably make a quilt or something for you so keep your eyes open for things to add to it. Everyone is enjoying the blog. I've been printing it out and taking it to Gram so she can know what you're up to. Bill is at camp with about 100 5th graders so he'll catch up on everything you've been doing tomorrow. A little schoolwork is probably okay. It's a good reason to get you over there, innit?

Rain rain rain! Have things started molding yet?
Have you sent me my postcard yet? Jacob left for Germany two days ago and is under strict instructions to send me dozens of cool ones. With illustrations, or pictures. ("OH MY GOD HERMES!")
Oh, and I got my job back with bath and body works. *wearily dons scent sailor uniform* So your Mango Mandarin Body Wash will be waiting for you on your return.
Keep having adventures!

I called Lois to find our Scotch
plaid and found out it is the
Campbell clan so if you want to
buy a swatch that is what you need
to get. That is what the Queen's guard wears so I guess you saw them at the changing of the guard!
It's been nice reading your blog but I am going home Sunday so Margie will have to print out every thing for me to read. Don/t spend all your money - sounds like the pubs are getting all the extra! Love ya, Grandma
