Predeparture

Ah, the maiden post.

Well, here is the deal. This has been created to document my 6 week adventure in the UK. I assume it will turn into a more normal blog afterwards, but for now it is a travel journal for everyone to keep up with me as I traverse the accented path through England, Ireland, and Scotland.

I have just returned home and will only be here for 4 days before I am jetsetting to Europe. having packed up my entire life two days ago, it is proving difficult to unpack it and then find only the essentials and repack in 50 lbs or less. It must be done, it will be done, but not this moment.

For now, I am setting up my modes of communication. I will not have my cell phone over there, which, oddly enough I rarely used it here, but I am really starting to hate the idea of not having it there. I blame text messaging. But this is why Triptometer has been created. between blogging, IM, email, and the occasional long-distance phone card call, I hope you will hardly have time to miss me.
