Ali, Sarah and I took the Thames ferry from Westminster to Greenwich...and it surprisingly took an hour! but it totally felt like a NYC Circle Line tour because our ferry driver pointed out interesting buildings along the side as we went and we got to see all the cool bridges.
Greenwich is in London, but it is a bit down the Thames and you really don't feel like you are in london. it is home to the world's largest maritime museum, the royal observatory and the Prime Meridian!

we got several downpours while we were there, and my jeans were soaked to the knee! it has been the first day that the rain was coming down hard - we got hail! - and really got us wet. luckily it only rained that hard for like 10 minutes. overall way worth it!
off to a pub, cheerio!

OK so now I am caught up. Loved the etymology lesson. Hope you got more. I'm also impressed with your trip to the Eastern Hemisphere. It is cool like the Arctic Circle, much more than four corners. Only the International Dateline is cooler. When you get to Stonehenge remember not to move the rocks, I understand they are very particular about placement.
I hear that if you push just the right rock at Stonehenge, they all topple like dominoes.
Do it. I dare you. Show those druids that we mean business.
OoooH...sporting the new sweater, I see - nice nice! Keep on trekking
